What say you Oppo? Should it be a V12?

The 63s are bi-turbo V8s and the 65s are V12s

I think he’s asking if it would be better as an SL65 than a 63.

Ah, regardless I would rather have the 63AMG.

It wouldn’t sound quite so good. But still yes it should.

We have a V6, V8 and V10, so there’s a weird little part of my brain that says I should get a V12.

I've heard the 63 is better then the 65 in quite a few ways though.

That depends. Gumball run or track events?

“Should it be a V12 ?”
Is that a valid question now ?

They're both bi-turbo

I'm asking if it would be better as a V12

Not really. The answer should always be yes

It's a GT car if you ask me. This isn't for the track

The V12 will sound better but it is heavier and the 63 will be slightly faster... and a lot less money.

The new 63 is better than the 65 in pretty much every aspect except for raw power output. And cylinder count. And coolness.

the 12 is cool, but if it were my money I’d opt for the 63, cheaper, arguably better, still sounds very cool.

Whoever spends six figures on a Merc and leaves with less than 12 cylinders is a sucker.

This was a few years ago and a S63 vs a s65. The 12 is just so heavy for the output.

It is a lug of an engine. But it’s not about the brutality of it, it’s about the delivery. Nothing short of a veyron W16 delivers power like a Mercedes V12. And to be frank, the S600 is the pick of the litter. AMG S classes are just garish.

Oh so slightly faster. The V12 can't actually put that extra power down and weighs more, so maybe even slower to 60. It pulls stronger though and sounds better. V12 for me!

Then V12. It’s smoother, more comfortable and more effortless in every way. The 8 can be made more powerful but it handles better (weight) and has the speed shift MCT wet clutch trans, well and you just can't beat a 12 for smooth.

Always.

Everyone hates this SL but I actually like it a lot, it looks good in the metal.

From the rear yes. Front? No
