because, I mean it has the hood scoop, and stripes on the side mirrors that all indicate it is a legit M series BMW. but... it is parked between the lines which I find to be cause to question the legitimacy

Hmmm... This is a tough one. Thinking it is. The hood scoop is the real tell tale sign. If it is not, then it at least has 30 extra hp from the scoop.

My cousin has an E30, it needs a shifter, and parking brake lever boots. But he refuses to buy any of the ones found on ebay, because they all have M stripes, or M triple stitching. He’s a good guy in my book .

Sure, BMW hands out that badge like candy these days anyway.

Don't forget about the smoker shades on the windows! If I were a betting man I would bet everything I had that this is in fact a real BMW M car. You can tell by how perfect the stripes on the mirrors are. Only real rare M cars had those stripes and hood scoop like that. I am sure this car is on the top of ever BMW collectors list, it has to be the rarest BMW of them all.

That's not a hood scoop, it's an airbrake to help keep the nose planted during high-speed maneuvers. And if you look inside, you'll see the proof — it goes nowhere. So there.

I was buying metal pedals for my civic, and the legit honda ones were garbage (the accelerator had a different tread pattern and looked dumb) and all the other options had garbage logos and crap on them. I eventually settled on imitation ones with some “mugen” striping that was as minimal as possible.

I’d have to check the VIN, but I think that’s just the MSportLine Dynamic Adaptive Active Touring Speed appearance package. Factory option for $3999, only 3 made it to the US! Nice spot, very rare.

I don’t see any M badges. So I’m going with no.

That’s one of those illegal ones that BMW made, the hood scoop is necessary because the engine pump out 650hp and goes 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. This guy must have worked at BMW, no way he could of gotten one of those machines any other way.

Umm that’s because it’s got the classic badge pack, a $430 option, that removes all M badges except the one on the trunk lid. You just can’t see the trunk lid badge from the picture angle. It also has the optional Carbon scoop pack, a $300 option, and the $700 ultra rare M-sport mirror package. Sadly the car in the picture doesn’t include my personal favorite option, the $540 M-sport plastic rims.

Pretty cheap option packages for a BMW.

Sorry, I forgot to add zeros on the end of the prices. My fault.
