Used to live in SF (litteraly downtown on O’Farrell near Union square), and damn I don’t regret being out of it... nice city, but the rents. FUCK.

I assume the 800 means 800 sqft.

I think I could purchase all the houses on my street with $1,000,000.

Is that lady missing her left arm? Did she sell it to pay for her spot at Summit 800? What is the value of a left arm on the San Francisco market?

Going to stay that way until SF makes it easier to build new apartment/condo towers.

San Francisco is a great place to visit. But when I was there it was sad to see the lengths that people had to go through to stay in their homes. Unaffordable property tax. Seeing their rent jump 200-300%, and having to airbnb to make ends meet on a dilapidated rental property. Gentrification is a very real problem.

Absolutely nuts. Who buys these? Are there really enough people wiling to pay 7 figures for a 15oo sqft condo that still has association fees on top of it?
SF is still an hour or more away from most of SV

On one hand I’m always like “living in California would be awesome!” and on the other hand I’m like “Fuck that shit to hell”

Yes. That’s why the prices are as they are. It’s the same in London or several other places.

Property values are hilarious out there. It's so shocking how different areas of the country have different values. Here, the most expensive home for sale in town is just over $1,000,000. And, it's 6,500 square feet or so.

My mom & I were just talking last night about how SF is the most expensive place to live in the country and our townhouse would be worth well into seven figures there.

California is the best state in the country, except for all the people already there.

Not really, honestly the opposite. They’ve put such huge restrictions on rents and new builds that even if you allowed unabated development starting today it would take something like a decade or more for development to catch up with demand.
