Pollen on a black car is a losing battle. I just washed it and there is already pollen.
I also noticed I’ve been slightly dragging my foot on the skirt when I get in the car. Maybe some of it is from test drivers at the dealer because I’ve been super careful. I also tell people on the passenger side before they get in the watch their feet.
New car anxiety is stressful.

A coworker has a new WRX and he drove to lunch one day last week with a couple of us, I noticed how far the rockers stuck out past the door and thought it odd, glad it isn’t just me. Definitely something you have to be conscious of to not kick/step on!

Yeah I don’t really get it. They aren't deep so they can be removed, but I'm probably going to get some 3M clear stuff applied after I fix them.

What kinda shoes you been using?
Try researching door sill protectors. There’s usually a clear film product or something that Subaru should offer.

I’m glad I bought my car used and already a little dinged up. I long ago gave up on trying to keep it immaculately clean. Black is just too damn hard to keep clean. Two days after a full wash claybar and wax it was back to shit.

The only thing I can think is if you wear dress shoes to work. They tend to have hard points on them which could do the above. Love the car. Glad you’ll be able to buff them out. The other positive, is the “damage” is in a spot no one really looks at so you have that going for you.

If you have a good coat of wax on the car, pretty much all you need to do is a quick rinse to make the pollen go away, then take it for a drying run ;)

I think that’s like a feature of all modern cars. My new car also has a mile between the pavement and the seat. The sides are thick and the door sills are like a foot thick.

Yeah I got hit by a car when I was younger so it's kind of hard to move my left leg enough to get it over the sill.

Reminds me of the time I sat in an i8 - you had to almost sit on the door sills to swing your legs in, then shimmy over to the middle of the seat.
