He appears to be going to court with his conspiracy theories in mind. Talking about how he needs to reestablish common law in the court, overthrowing to normal maritime law, some about corporations created in your own name, and a bunch of other stuff. I can only imagine how this will work out for him...

It will not workout well. If there’s one thing judges hate, it’s someone grasping for straws on a charge they are guilty beyond a doubt for.

The case it self is an interesting one, I bet he would be to have the charge servery lessened if not removed. If he played his cards right, that is.

Oh great, he’s one of those Sovereign Citizen retards. If your friend wants to go to jail tell him to stay the course. If he doesn’t want to end up in jail, tell him to shut the fuck up.

It sounds like your buddy needs a lawyer. Judges HATE that kind of shit. It’s a waste of time for everyone involved.

Yeah, judges absolutely love that stuff. I’m sure it’ll all work out great for him.

As I’m sure you already know, that’s not going to end well. Depending on how strident he is, he may end up in jail or with a contempt of court citation in addition to his DUI conviction. If he has any legitimate argument, he really needs a decent lawyer to make it for him.

That is absolutely not what will happen. If anything, it will worsen his charge.

Ah, yes, I’ve done that a few times. I usually put the keys in the glove box, fold down the trunk pass through and sleep half in, half out of the trunk. I would hazard a guess that as long as you don’t get a dick of a cop and you behave yourself they would let you slide. Based on your buddies ramblings that are coming dangerously close to sovereign citizen territory, I am betting he made a bit of a scene.
I should also note that when I do that, I am very careful to never open the drivers door or sit in the drivers seat at any point.
