What is not shown is the on/off Rain/hail we’ve been having today. We’re all a bit unhinged in the UK when I comes to open topped cars. The weather really isn’t good enough.

That Golf you’ve got is really nifty. Someday I feel like a GTI is inevitable for me.

Love the S500. Here the W140 was most common in S420 and S500 form, but I figured being across the pond I would see an S320 or, god forbid, S300 diesel badge when I zoomed in.

To be fair we haven’t had a bad winter here. No snow, just wind and occasional rain. I was at the beach on Friday.

It’s great fun, the golf. It’s not a manual (shock horror!) And is my first Automatic. The DSG farts on up shift make me giggle and the turbo whoosh is addictive.

My pal Liam who owns the S500 decided that after his 1.6 Eunos Roadster he wanted to go full barge. He was looking at 4.0 Jag XJ’s but picked us the S500L with 92k miles for just under Ł2k. Very comfy. It’s odd for someone who is 24 like him to own own an S-class let alone a V8.

I get it. I’m a young person, I’ve got a big old V8 luxobarge, and people do look at me funny. My friends call it the old man car.
