Apart from the start, I think Nico had a great drive. After the red flag restart it was pretty clear he just needed to control his pace and keep the car working (which it very nearly didn’t). Real shame Ferrari gambled on that strategy despite the fact that Vettel caught up to Lewis by the end.

I can’t help but think that Seb would’ve taken the race if they’d picked the mediums at the restart. Are they allowed to check the setup of the other cars? Lewis definitely was checking out the car in front of him before getting back in the cockpit, but I can’t imagine Ferrari would’ve chosen the compound they did for Seb if they knew what the Mercs were doing.

I was so excited to see the Ferraris out front on the first lap.. I had a feeling it woudn’t last, but it was nice to cheer so early in the season.

True that. On the flip side, I was really hoping McLaren would finish in the points... Alas Button ended a lap down, and Alonso was another story entirely (very glad he wasn’t hurt).
