Kinja'd!!!2 Kinja'd!!! 13

My need to trade Mazda3 for manual Subaru XV’s AWD and superior ground clearance to make it home.

Kinja'd!!!

At least that’s what I can hope for.

XV’s are pretty awesome in the snow, especially on snow tires. When I had mine, I couldn’t get it stuck, no matter how hard I tried. Hell, I was hardly ever to even engage the traction control.

I don’t think that 1 bad snow day in a year is worth the trade. :)

For auto > manual would be my key seller. Although I don’t know how much fun an XV is to drive. I’ve heard mixed reviews; which kills me because I wanted that to be my next car but now I have to re-evaluate.

I hated my lowered Legacy with snow tires. TOO much grip. I went to Grabber AT2's when I lifted it so I could have SOME fun in the white stuff.

Only a test drive will help you know the truth!

I got stuck in the snow at the end of my driveway once this year. Hit a berm of snow someone had plowed across the road from their driveway. In both instances the XV would have been fine.

Oh, and its not rusty and in need of axles and motor mounts and has about 70k less miles on it.

The good thing about its fun-to-drive quotient is that other more sporty Subaru parts will fit it.

We can MAKE it sporty, dammit.

Just bought my wife a Forester so upgrade for me is on the back burner for a while. Maybe during the delay in purchasing a car I can convince her to get the new Volvo wagon?

manual is far superior in the snow. Daily drive a 128i RWD manual in areas where we measure our snow fall in feet.

There is no such thing as too much grip in the snow. You just didn’t have enough power.

It wasn’t the going (or stopping), it was the TURNING. I couldn’t get it to 4-wheel drift as easily.
