Stay strong, you beautiful people.
Gillet Vertigo, like, the only not-semi-obscure Belgian car.

For the rest of the week, could we have the logo updated? I feel it’s a small gesture of solidarity, much like after the Paris attacks.
Stay safe, Belgian brothers and sisters!

Despite the massive amount of coverage of the Ankara bombings, people like to claim that there is a double standard about terrorist attacks and that people only care when it happens in the West.

Istanbul recently experienced a terrorist attack, so he’s bringing up why one appears to be more grievable and worthy of our attention than the other (I can talk all day about that, but I’m in class).

Oh. I didn’t even realize there were any bombings in Ankara. Which I guess is kinda the point.

Someone else said Ankara, but yeah, I just hadn’t heard.

There have been multiple attacks.

Oh. Snap, well, my bad.

Ankara was the first of several. Bombings in Turkey are unfortunately more common than anyone would like hence why they are less news worthy than the attacks in the European captials.

Right! It’s not that they’re less important; they’re just more routine. Not said in a matter-of-fact way.

A lot of the complaints were directed at social media. Facebook didn’t have any Turkish flag avatar filters (never mind that I think those don’t “do anything”) nor did they enable the disaster check-in feature, allegedly, which is way more important.

I thought that was for natural disasters only.

I think it was originally, but must’ve been extended: http://money.cnn.com/2016/03/22/tec…

Part of me says yes, part of me says no. I mean after all these attacks were committed in the name of Islam and Turkey’s flag is literally just the symbol for Islam on a red background. I get that IS isn’t representative of all Muslims but it might not be in the best taste right now.

In no way does that make sense. Sorry bro.
99.9% of muslims are peaceful people. You can’t not support a country that’s been a victim of terrorism because they’re part of the peaceful 99.9%.

It's not about the country, it's about what's on the flag. I'm not saying we shouldn't support them; we absolutely should. It's not about the country, it's about what's on the flag.
![]() 03/22/2016 at 13:51 |

well what’s on the flag is what that country picked to represent them.
If some terrorist group started using just a group of stars would you stop flying an American flag because there is a group of stars on it?
