It was awesome and it was awkward to get into.
*By drove I mean parked it a block away.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who finds the i8 really awkward to get in to. The door sills are so wide, you have to sit on the edge of the seat and swing in your legs, then shimmy into the seat. It’s worth it though

What a smug little showoff...

The Alfa 4C is also rather awkward to get in and out of. But once inside, it’s fantastic.

Please tell me you didn’t leave it in a handicap spot. Please?

How can you drive a BMW and not do that?

It’s the valet lot. Needed the extra space because of the doors.

Yeah, the car probably has an autoseek feature for them.

To get the full experience, you need to cruise down a city street blasting old school Nas. Common mistake.

That it is. Large sills generally imply added stiffness in the chasis. So the tradeoff is for an awkward egress in lieu of a floppy car.

Thanks for mentioning how awkward to get in and out it is. I went to a BMW event a while back and left the doors open. I noticed two things:
- Getting in and out requires you to do uncomfortable things.
- The carbon fiber inside the doors doesn’t match up properly and the weave goes in strange directions. While I know this isn’t a big deal, I’ve heard them brag about how they left it exposed (unpainted) to show how special the CF body is. That is utterly ridiculous. It’s like leaving the plaster off one wall of your house to show how it looked before you did all the others.

With how they open I wanted to take no chances.

Local Fiat dealer brought one to a Cars and Coffee. It drew quite a crowd. So I hung out with a guy who owned a Mazda Rotary truck.
