I rode my bike (or any bike at that) for the first time in a empty lot practicing clutch control, turning, braking. I did really well and progress really quick.
Oh btw to those who said the fz 07 not a beginner bike you are wrong it is perfect.

*edit* That was some unnecessary shitting on your post.
Be safe, enjoy it, glad you took some time in a parking lot.

like I said before. I’ve seen stupider. but seeing as you LITERALLY just started riding, you dont have any ground to stand on in terms of ‘oh yea, this is a great bike”
keep the right side up and wear the right gear. (also, good for you for taking it to the parking lot...no smart ass-ness or anything about that, I’m genuinely happy tht you did it)
pro tip: for slow speed stuff, learn to drag the rear brake. it ‘stretchs’ the bike out and makes it more stable. (i thought it was bull at first too, but it works)

Haha come on you gots to give me some credit. Thanks for that tip I will work on that. My motorcycle jacket comes in soon I was really having trouble with feeling the controls with the riding boots I got I was not used to not feeling my toes up on something. I got adjusted pretty quick hey I was even shifting into 2nd and feeling what it's like to engine break.

Not unnecessary I'm just tired of people not doing they're research and looking into the fz 07 as a beginner bike look it up its everywhere. I already hear the you going to die if you get a motorcycle enough I'm being responsible.

I gave you credit for going to a parking lot first. And again, its not the dumbest first bike i’ve seem. *shudders at repressed memories*
at this point I figure you already have the bike, so might as well make sure you stay alive and give you w/e pointers I can
-if nothing else, LOOK. WHERE. YOU. WANT. TO.GO.
let me say it again.
LOOK. WHERE. YOU. WANT. TO. GO.
If there is nothing else I can drill into your head, its that. target fixation is a bad enough thing in a car, and a thousand times worse on a bike.
-get some cones and set up a small salom and a braking box. learn to stop and how to swerve in an emergancy. practice in a parking lot beats having it suddenly thrown at you on the street
-be on the look out for in-consistancies in the road. sand and gravel is your enemy.
-read this:
http://oppositelock.kinja.com/riding-in-the-…
and dont freak out about getting caught in the rain. because its going to happen eventually.
BIKE mods: forget the after market can (for now) , look for frame sliders. its protection in case you drop it.
thats really all I have to say for now. after you’ve got a little bit of riding done, and want to start getting a little faster,. i’ll send you a link to a video.
