Let’s meet the Peugeot 183.

Yes, I know Peugeots have a 0 in the middle. Not old ones like this though. The 183 had a 2 litre six producing from 38 to 47 bhp depending on how much you paid and was made from 1928 to 1932.

Like most cars of this era it was sold with a variety of body types, from the cabrio shown to a conventional saloon or a “torpedo” with up to seven seats.

The larger models were much appreciated by the carriage trade and if you needed a taxi in late 1920s Paris you were quite likely to find yourself in a 183.
