My friend is looking at an 04 Nissan Murano. He doesn’t care about how boring it is blah blah blah but he would like to know trouble spots or concerns. He needs something that’s pretty reliable. Car in question:

I don’t like transverse V6's because they are difficult/expensive to service, and a lot of the VQ’s electronic engine components suck, like the MAF and TPS.

A 4-cylinder Highlander or Rav4 would be a better choice.

good friend had one with constant transmission issues and brake problems. I don’t know the specifics. She was thrilled to get rid of it.

My grandparents put 140k on their 06 in a few short years. Dont think it ever had major issues and they took that thing all across the country

Yeah, I was going to say, didn’t the earlier Nissan CVTs have a lot of issues...?

These are known for transmission issues (read: failure).

As repeated here often, steer clear because of Transmission issues.
