As long as there’s a duramax diesel in it, I’m okay with this

It fails the front of door to wheel distance >= back of door to wheel distance test for being a true shooting brake, which makes it more of a two door wagon.

it would be awesome if there was a fifth wheel in the rear and could tow a trailer.

There’s a 100% chance this thing is still FWD.

I counted; you spent 32 words saying what you should have said in two words: “It fails.”
What is a
shooting brake
?

Shooting brake, modern terms: a coupe-platform “station wagon”-like setup, which is shorter than a “normal” station wagon. A Callaway Corvette would be an example, as would a Volvo 1800ES:
On Oppo a while back, we tried to develop a dividing line between two door wagons and brakes, and door position was what we came up with.

How about,
not enough car behind the driver’s door post for another door before you get to the rear wheel
? This is most likely the essence of what you were saying earlier, and the white Buick is
not
a shooting break.

That’s pretty much it. A two-door wagon that has two doors because it *couldn’t* have more. There are those models which engaged in some level of cheating, however. As an example, the two-door Falcon wagon sort of hits your criterion, but only because the doors on two-door models were much longer than on the four door models. The wheelbase and internal layout were identical between the two... With the longer doors, it *almost* hits the criterion of more body space to the wheel than in front, but not quite.
The body distance/door rule is not without its flaws, of course. For one, anything with crazy levels of front end foreshortening gets in trouble, even if it obviously should be called a shooting brake:

I totally get it. My wife and I have always liked wagons (Subaru Outback!) for their obvious utility. However, I prefer sedans because they have a boot where I can secure things. And there is a social element to a four-door sedan: I like the idea of several people sitting comfortably in an automobile, enjoying a ride and each others’ company.

After renting a modern hatch for a week on a trip to the UK, I can state that I prefer sedans and wagons to them unreservedly. For one, I constantly curb things and turn in if I’m driving something with the wheels all the way at the back corners, and they’re harder to park for a given length. For two, I really am not a fan of having all my storage space vertically arranged, even if it’s more on paper. For three, there’s only so much of the modern short-tail hatch I can stand to look at - after about two days on the road I was holding out hope for the rare German fullsize or Citroen Picasso van to break the tedium.
With a shooting brake, you have something that’s a coupe more or less, with little consideration given to the rear seat if any so the front comfort is optimized, and what storage space there is is not a little tall closet on the tail of the car, but more like a pickup truck. It’s not a sedan, so it’s no good for more than two full grown people, but it has its advantages. I absolutely get the four door sedan idea, but there are so few with enough room for adults these days - it’s one reason I crush on big land-barges and that I bought Jared Rose’s ‘59 Lincoln to get back on the road.
