The Ford F150 SVT “Raptor” refers to the group of predatory birds rather than the awesome dinosaur it runs on (who’s name also refers to birds of prey). This places the Raptor in the same Ford tradition of using animal names such as Falcon and Thunderbird, in contrast to the Ford Mastodon or SVT Indominus Rex nameplates from the early ‘20s. Straight from the factory, the Raptor will “fly” through desert terrain and spend a vastly larger amount of time airborne in comparison to other factory trucks (which it preys upon).

As the old saying goes, “Fly like an Eagle, Land like a Duck”.

I think the best deal right now would be finding a 2011 with 50k miles for $35k. I want one, but I know I wouldn’t do anything with it unless I bought it for like $20k with over 120k miles.

The government spec Raptor is awesome.

I’d totally rock a Ford Mastodon

Yeah I’m thinking the prices are going to come down once the 17 comes out and I can pick up a 6.2L SCREW in a couple years in the $20's. I don’t need one. But I want one.

Also, the velociraptor was a ver small dinosaur. The raptors in Jurassic Park would have actually been the Deinonychus.

I imagine the Mastodon as the largest SUV in Ford’s lineup

Escape < Edge < Explorer

Seating for 10, 4WD, and 15,000lb towing capacity
