Isn’t a fully loaded 340i about the same?

But have you seen the roof tho.

340i starts at $45k, so I have a feeling a loaded one wpuld be about the same. Though I believe the Lincoln is a bigger car than the 3.

honestly I think that’s a much better option than having to make the roof bulkier. when it’s closed it’s a great shape.

Would rather have a GT350. Am fairly sure I am not the target demographic but still...

I’m sure it’ll lose 10/15k after the first year. but in this segment that’s pretty normal

MKZ is comparable to an E/5

Can only hope so. Starting to warm up to the mkz. Which means they'll be cheap in 5 years when I might want one.

I feel like it's between the 3-5? It's not quite as big as a 5 and surely doesn't compete luxury wise but with the 3 series I think it's a good comparison. The 3.0t in the Lincoln isn't too shabby either...

I want to hear some performance numbers. Ie how it compares to the s4/340 numbers

Does anybody still buy luxury sedans? Thought the baby boomers were all buying crossovers that are easier to dump their fat asses in.

Nah it’s actually right about the same size. It’s marketed much like the CTS used to be (5 series size for 3 series price). The MKS is much much bigger on the outside...but because of the way the car is made it’s almost the same size as the mkz. Which is weird but whatever.

As for the luxury aspect, have you sat in a recent lincoln? They’re really, really close to bmw/audi/merc in fit and finish and superior to them in a lot of other ways. I find that the switchgear is a bit better in an audi but with lincoln starting to get separate switchgear from ford they’re pretty on par with bmw/merc.

We’re enthusiasts so the things lincoln excels at we’re not gonna really care about but for the 50 something that buys a 5 series or a loaded 3 and realizes that it’s hard and sporty instead of cushy...the comfy lincoln is the superior choice. I’m a big fan of lincoln, but I’m more a fan of quality products and I don’t think merc/bimmer/audi are really truly making the best products outside of their luxobarges. They certainly used to and I LOVE older audis but i got my mom an mkt and my dad an e400 and the interior of the mkt is leagues better than the e class save for the seat adjustment switches...the mercs is just so wonderful to use (they’re metal) but how often do you use that?

Sounds like it’s going to be a burner, but it’s going to be great to see what its like.

i have to think that luxury sedans are still very much in demand

Jaguar got Mom and BMW got Dad all luxuried (until the 335xi stole him away). My father’s too much of an enthusiast to dig this but I could see my Mom enjoying it.

I too really like the Lincoln stuff, just didn’t realize the z was so big, rather the 5 not as large as I thought it was. I did sit in the mks and it felt dated but nice but I know it’s on it’s way out being replaced with the continental. I'm a big fan of that car btw. Can wait for some seat time in the 30 way seats! I think it's about time Lincoln gets unique switchgear. I am concerned with the direction to change the grill design after just releasing two new sport utilities with the previous design though, inevitably they'll have to reintroduce that new design on the mid cycle refresh of the mkx and mkc.

Well we know it’ll have adaptive dampers, and active torque vectoring twinster diff in the rear and we all know how well the mkz does the slalom with pilot super sports...it should be pretty great especially given fords recent partnership with Michelin.

Yeah that was a curious move, but considering how the navigator is already slated for a 2017 unveil, the mks is going to be the conti on a stretched mkz platform and the mkt is likely in it’s last year of production (wish that wasn’t true) It’s probably for the best.

The split wing I think is a great design, but it just doesn’t have the affection of the public like a standard grille does and when comparing the 2015 and 2017 mkz I think the new one is a big improvement.

Why not just buy a taurus SHO?

o-60 in 5.2 seconds, Quart Mile at 13.8 seconds.

well they’re two different size classes, the mkz is much nicer on the inside and 400hp 3.0 vs 365hp 3.5

I like the show a lot, but if you’re getting an mkz you’re probably going to get the 45k “nicely equipped” version which is close to the sho.

Unless you get a used sho, because I see 2013/2014 models go for like 25k with 15-20k miles on them all day and that’s an excellent deal.

Ahh you're right, confused MKZ with MKS. Fusion sport will probably be faster due to lightness.
