It doesn’t matter how many “S” badges they slap on it.
I witnessed this Corolla getting flogged during a demo ride outside the Daytona International Speedway right before the green flag dropped at the Daytona 500.
Just because some professional drive on a closed course thinks he’s James Rockford doesn’t make this crapcan Toyota a bonafide sports car. Don’t believe the lies.

Corolla S is sort of a placebo effect. People who have never driven a sports car will think its sporty because of all the money mods and badges and sporty sounding name. And then they spend the rest of their life thinking that their corolla is a sports car

I’m a good enough driver to have fun tossing a Corolla around like if it was sportscar. Sorry to hear that you can’t :’(

“Like” it was a sportscar.
I see you agree with me.

lol, like if every sportscar is some magical hero car that can perform incredible! It takes the right attitude and the right driver. I know a Corolla isn’t a sportscar, but I bet I can humiliate and out drive a some sportscars and their drivers out there or die trying!

Eh, I’d still hoon the wheels off it. Driving small, slow cars fast is one of motoring’s great experiences.

I’ll have to upload the photos from home, but at NEIAS I saw and sat in, no joke, a TRD Camry. Seriously.

Well technically, there’s no such thing as a four door, four seater sportscar.
But maybe it can be a sports sedan.

Wow. My girlfriend has a Corolla “S” and I never once contemplated that it was supposed to indicate “Sport” ... or really anything at all. She can keep up with freeway traffic, I guess, if you don’t mind merging with traffic full throttle at a blistering 40-45 mph.

While it’s technically the Corolla XSE, my Mom’s Pontiac Vibe GT is actually pretty fun to toss around, even in automatic form. Anybody who shits on “sport” Corollas haven’t actually tried to have fun in one.

I just assumed it was a possessive missing the apostrophe.

The XRS at one point had a 6-speed manual and 2ZZ-GE. It’s not blow the doors off performance but I think that qualifies it for a nomination.

I don’t know about you, but my Corolla S has about 1200 HP and does 0-6 in half a second. I left only one S on it.
