I just bought a case for a gun I’ve recently purchased, and the case is made here in the USA. This will make the folks on the couple of gun forums I read happy. However, I bought it on Amazon and my transaction triggered a donation to Planned Parenthood which will make all the same people apoplectic, which is also fun.

I am all for sensible gun regulation, and yet my Amazon Smile donations go to the Wounded Warrior Project. Go figure ...

Next time I’m in NYC, we should meet up. From your posts on here you seem like a person who I’d have good conversation with.

Also, the Wounded Warrior Project is great. They are one of the elite few charities that are true to the term ‘not for profit’.

You’re such a tease. You didn’t tell us what kind of gun it is!

wait wut? have you completely missed the controversy surrounding WWP the past year? the ceo has been throwing ragers with charity money and a lot of the vets i’ve heard from said that WWP does little more than give out tshirts, drawstring bags etc. seems like the biggest complaint is that they’ve gone from legitimate charity to a “Brand” I’ve heard of Legion and VFW posts advising members to donate to other charities

Oh man, thanks for telling me. I thought they were one of the good ones.

A shame, really. You can easily make a livable salary as CEO of a charity without rhaiing the lion’s share of the contributions.

Yeah, I’ve even got an extension installed so any “amazon.com” links automatically redirect to “smile.amazon.com” links.

I wonder how much money I’ve indirectly donated to the EFF...

“the case is made here in the USA. This will make the folks on the couple of gun forums I read happy”

Gawds, they really are total idiots, aren’t they? I mean, we’ve only known for 350 years or so that the benefits of trade are imports, not exports. The US as a whole would be richer if you could (and did) buy the same case cheaper from someone else, because then you’d have the case plus whatever else the workers who’d have made it can go and do.

‘Buy American!’ is the same as saying ‘make America poorer!’

Mine goes to the local humane society, I'm more of an animal person.

I’ve heard the same for years — that WWP is the most loud-mouthed, but one of the least truly effective veterans’ charities out there. I think they mostly just make stickers.

In their defense, though, I think that anything that raises awareness for modern veteran care can have a positive effect in general.

I have wanted one of those since I was a kid!

How hard are full-auto and burst conversions? Not for me — for a friend who is on a SWAT team and is fully authorized to ask such questions.

Hard? Not very. It’s a drop in trigger pack

Legal? ehhhhhh, you gotta drop about 10k on an ATF registered Auto-Sear and wait for them to approve your request, takes about 8 months (give or take, I think they just hired some new approvers)

Though the one CSP posted has a short barrel and a stock, so it’s an SBR (unless he just grabbed a stock image from somewhere)

I have been seeing articles like this for the past week or so - hoping it’s not the case, but shit happens.

Sears for HKs haven’t been 10K in over a decade. Try 30K. It’s not QUITE as plug and play as you think either. There are changes to the semi receivers that make plugging in an auto trigger group impossible. You’ve gotta cut metal somewhere. If you buy a registered sear, it’ll probably come in a trigger pack, so you can save yourself some cutting. If you just buy a bare sear though, you’ve got a project ahead of you.

Also, if the guy is on “on a SWAT team” then he can just call up HK and buy factory MGs and avoid the whole conversion mess. It’s really a LOT easier.

Last, I pulled a stock image, but mine will be an SBR after the stamp arrives.

Amazon Smile is awesome. Not many know about it, but the ability to give a donation just by buying something you were going to anyhow is pretty cool.

Your’s has a hysterical result though

There’s a chrome extension that redirects any Amazon link through smile, so you never forget to donate. Mine is also set to Planned Parenthood of Mid and Southeast Michigan, because FSM knows they need it here.

Ahh, thanks for the extra info. I’ve never really followed NFA stuff aside from SBR’d VZ61's (because klobberin time) and bottom of the barrel Mac-10/11 bullet hoses (because pew pew pew)

Also, holy shit, really, 30k for a registered auto sear? This must be a demo-letter post-86 one then
