I was in Paris today for a job interview. Because I had time to kill before going back home at 300 kph, I stopped by the Champs Elysées and Toyota had an awesome red 2000GT displayed. Pictures up as soon as I have time to edit them. They also had a Celica GT, a MR2 AW as well as an MK IV Supra. Peugeot had the 208 Pikes Peak, 908 Le Mans and last year 2008 DKR. Mercedes just had a couple AMGs (and the GT safety car), few years back they had the Red Pig on display, don’t know if I still have the picture.

I’ll be in Paris mid-April, now I have yet another thing to add to my itinerary! This will be #2 for me!

The Champs Elysées seems to be a surprisingly good place to spot cool cars. I was there shortly after the McLaren F1 came out. Someone pulled up with one on a trailer, unloaded it and fired it up. On a later trip I spotted the then new Ferrari Enzo.

The exhibition is called “Sports Heritage” and is on until April (not sure when exactly). For more info => https://www.toyota.fr/world-of-toyot…

You also have the small Peugeot showroom, the multi story Citroën, a big Renault one with a restaurant (pricey) upstairs. I’m not sure if the Fiat one at the end of the avenue still exists. You also have Mercedes, and theirs is pretty large too. And you have a bunch of dealership not too far away (Lexus is on the Avenue de la Grande Armée I think, as well as Land Rover, Aston Martin used to have a showroom in the vincinity.)

Oh, yeah, we are going to be there the 18 to 28 so I’d imagine since this says ‘...to April’ that it will be gone. Ah well, I’ll keep an eye on it and see. Thanks for the input, I’m sure we will stroll through and see them.

Yep. I still remember those 7€ for a tap Heineken. I could almost give you the date.

€7 for a Heineken?

Pah. I was in Bergen a couple of years ago where I bought the most expensive beer of my life. One pint (just over half a litre) for NOK 93 or about €11.

It’s a cool place. The last time I was in Paris I was able to sit in the GT86 and they had one with all the TRD parts on it. At Mercedes they only had the CLA out and nothing else. I still hate that car. The first time I was in Paris I got yelled at in french by some girl in the Renault store, no idea why, and I sorta just walked away. I was such an awkward teen.
