I saw one of these yesterday that was in near-perfect shape and clean as a whistle. In Iowa. In the winter.

Shut up!!! Seriously?!?!

That was my first car. Mine was midnight blue, not two tone, but otherwise that was it.

Old GM products aren’t that uncommon here. We even have rust free Chevettes.

To reinforce your point, a mint 1987 Nova came through the drive-thru at work, a few weeks ago. 80s crap does not die in the South.

A fellow here in my home town (who always had a good sense of humour when I knew him in high school), who is also a petrolhead restored an ‘88-’89 Hyundai Excel sedan a few years back. He even garages it in the winter...the damn thing is MINT and seems to run like a top! :) Not an ‘amazing’ car, but he says it’s been dead reliable and I give him major props for the work they did, as I can’t imagine getting parts is easy as there are very few left on the roads up here in Canada!

His is much like this one, except black and with no rust on it whatsoever...

Yep, it looked pretty well taken care of and has that signature GM V6 sound.

False. Chevettes came standard with rust from the factory. Source: I am a former Chevette owner.

I know you are joking, but I saw a rust free one a couple of days ago.
