Did the poor thing ever even reach 20 MPH?

kekekehuehuehue

Just kidding, it caught up to a McLaren.

That moment when you realize the Honda S660 does 0 to 60 in over 13s...

Suzuki Cappuccino FTW as far as I’m concerned :)

I still don’t think 13 seconds is *that* bad. I mean, it certainly isn’t fast, and will easily get lapped by a Mirage, but that isn’t terrible. My first car did that sprint in like 25 seconds, and that still felt OK for everyday use, had to stay in the right lane on the highway, but still.

Think this one needs to be going downhill for the fun.

I know, I own a Austin Mini 1000 that does it in 23s or so... Still, when considering that it’s a 2016 car and that a 1992 Suzuki Cappuccino, following the same keijidosha restriction does it under 9s, it’s like... slow, very slow :)

Also, it is still very slow when you chose this car to do a hillclimb with a wide open road. Downhill, sure tons of fun, but uphill, damn, it’s just too slow.

Oh, agreed. But the acceleration thing still isn’t a valid excuse for not exporting it. I mean, if I sign a document saying I’m aware it does 60 in 13 and am willing to pay sticker anyway, I should be able to get one, right?

Stock keicars often simply don’t meet safety standards outside of Japan. I have to get behind the wheel of one almost every day and it’s frightening how weak it feels.

Also the S660 will likely be available in the US with a 1L engine so... and while this specific kei looks somewhat safer than the average keicar, in gneral you don’t want to drive them in north america lol, trust me on that :)

I have it on some good authority that American Honda is seriously investigating offering an S660-like car here. It won’t be the S660, but it may be related to it in some way - stretched, widened, and with a bigger engine. The dealers want it, a lot of Honda employees want it, and they can justify it on economic grounds.

With more power it could be fun... A suzuki Cappuccino with aorund 100hp is an absolute blast so I can only imagine this owuld be the same :)

I think it still looks like fun. Riding out gears is great fun. In my friend’s Evo 6 you’re always shifting, you never get to hang onto the revs and listen to the engine scream.

Could probably be a bit faster though. Hopefully export models (if they ever exist) get a 1.0L. That’d do it.
