For the first time that I’ve seen, the WRC has shown the inward facing camera from Eric Camili’s car during his wreck at Monte Carlo. This was a low-speed crash, but it absolutely devastated the roll cage at the A-pillar.
To give you an idea of the amount of deformation here’s a before and after:

Looks like that could not have caught any worse. Even 3" back and would have skidded down the side instead. Dang.

Whoa! That’s about the worst possible way you could hit that spot. Was the driver OK?

Fortunately he was fine. That same angle and ten more miles an hour though...

it’s crazy how hitting it like that caused so much damage yet it can withstand some barrel rolls with not too much bending of the a pillar
