Although not necessarily car themed, The Blues Brothers has a ton of car related antics in it and I think it is a great movie. From a car perspective, I love the scene in Chicago where they are going like 120 through the middle of the city. The part about it I enjoyed was the close up camera work, the sound, the coordination with everything else going on, and the pure ridiculousness of it.

But also, I definitely love to see any stunts that have no trickery or CGI. Just real physics and stunt drivers. The more real it is, the better. Also, less dramatic music and more engine sounds.

1: Bullitt: because car chase in SF, obviously

2: real-world physics in a car themed movie. Because that’s what separates a ‘film’ from a ‘movie’

Rush, hands down.

Kinja'd!!!

I really love Tokyo Drift, Bullitt, Gone in Sixty Seconds, etc., but the a lot of those I like purely because of the cars. People who don’t like cars usually don’t like those movies. Rush is simply a great movie. The cars, the action, the acting, the directing, the story, and the pacing are all fantastic.

1. Gone in 60 Seconds / Le Mans. The former because there’s so many great cars included. The latter because of the incredible visuals, fantastic sound, and realism.

2. I just want to see more of them. More car related movies.more realistic car related movies. Where’s the Go Like Hell movie I was promised?!

1. If this counts as a movie

2. Some good chases, without the cheesiness of a hollywood chase scene.

Tie between American Graffiti and Two Lane Blacktop for my favorite car movie. American Graffiti captured the early 60s perfectly with the right cars, music and antics a 18/19 person would do on a summer night.

Two Lane Blacktop just focuses on the 55 Chrvy. It captured all the great sounds of its 454 big block Chevy and the whine of the M22 Rock crusher 4 speed.

I would love to see something like American Graffiti and Dazed and Confused mashed together. Set in like 69/70 so full of muscle cars and then really capture all the glorious sounds of the muscle cars. Plus have a rocking and groovy soundtrack that really nails the period.

1. Gone in 60 Seconds. I like Nick Cage. It also had a bunch of sweet rides. I also liked the FnF series despite everything.

2. Diablos. LAMBORGHINI DIABLOS.
