"Tapas" (tapas)

So ever since childhood, I doodle cars when I’m bored and sometimes paying attention but wishing I didn’t have to.
I have hundreds of doodles and I like a lot of them. What software do I need to made them into, 3D models or digital renderings of concept cars that you see in press releases? I have a Mac.

$0 Route; Blender, patience, the internet and about 50-100 hrs to model your first detailed car.
$100-$500 route; cheap steam modeler with everything else above
$1k; a professional 3D package like Lightwave or Cinema4D and perhaps some training materials. That will cut like 10 hours or so off your first car.
Beyond this point lies the realm of subscription software which is dominated by autodesk. $200/month and you can play around with the big boys toys, and if you REALLY wanna get serious, you can try vray for $1500/month.

Hypothetically you can get Rhino 5 and Vray for free very easily.

I don’t agree with Autodesk’s pricing structure at all, but I agree with piracy even less. A student might be able to sidestep the paywall, but I don’t think you should have to guaranteed stake 5-figures on your desire to be good at 3D before finding out if it’s for you or not.

True; thankfully Autodesk stuff is free for students, but Rhino and Vray aren’t. I rely on them everyday for school and I don’t exactly have thousands to drop, so I didn’t have much of a choice. For non-commercial work I personally don’t see much of an issue with it, but that’s just me.

Awsome drawings! I can see mash ups of other vehicles in there.
I used to draw on paper, scan in the drawings, find a similar angled car, and draw in the same reflections in Photoshop.
Here are two I did over a decade ago:
