Cameras are cool. I know mirrorless is the future, but I love the mechanical sounds and feel of the DLSR, like hearing a carbureted engine struggle to life on a cold morning. Yes, fuel injection is better, but it doesn’t feel the same emotionally.
This thing takes good pics, no?

Oh man, Pumpkin’s face. She looks like a moody teenager that’s annoyed you caught her on camera.

There’s no replacement for framing your shot through an actual optical viewfinder IMO. Nice exposures!

I got sick of using viewfinders because I wear glasses. I hated smushing my face up to the viewfinder with my glasses between the camera and my head. I switched to mirrorless and haven’t looked back.

Nice! I too like a good DSLR. Mirrorless isn’t quite there yet.

Just a heads up of you ever do go mirrorless, some of them do have mechanical shutters. My Fuji X-E1 has a focal plane shutter that makes honest mechical noises when you take a photo. Sure, it is less than additional mirror flip of an SLR, but it is still an actual mechanism moving inside the camera body. Add in the discrete shutter speed and EV dials and I think it feels every bit as analog as the Rebel I have at work. More important than what camera you use is how you frame shots and those are some nice ones that you posted right there. Enjoy it! IMO Canon had been making much nicer cameras and lenses than Nikon for the last 7-8 years or so -I think you bought into the right system.
