For now, I work weekends. Wife works weekdays. Single digit age kids must be wrangled on weekends without me and her always...for now...anyone here able to manage that for a prolonged period of time months?

It’s a new job with weekend work for probably 6 months. Holidays falling on weekends and kids off school didn’t help any but i know there are families out there with this permanent schedule. How do they not go insane....?

It becomes normal after awhile.

Wife works early mornings so I take the kids to school/sitter before I work. She picks them up and takes them home or to after school activities. I get off work and pick them up from said activities.

Kids are put to bed by 7:30. The rest of the evening is husband/wife time.

When my wife works weekends, I have to get the kids out of the house to maintain sanity. The backyard treehouse is a good start, but I do a lot of road trips with them when the weather allows up into the mountains or other areas where I can turn them loose.
