Also, good news (everyone)! Since I fixed my fuel leak and adjusted the idle mixture, my fuel economy has jumped from 23.3 to 28.8! PROGRESS!

Wow! Nice work on the carb adjustment, glad you got it figured out.
I put a new Weber carb in my truck about 9 months ago and since that time the throttle return spring has been wonky. Yesterday I had finally had enough and pulled the return spring bracket and put it in a vice and bent it so it would actually allow the throttle to fully close at idle every time.
I love working on older Japanese vehicles. Hope yours keep running well.
