I-35 in Iowa, complete with 50+ cars and two big rigs in the ditch.
I-35 the second we crossed the border into Minnesota, and a total of 2 cars in the ditch.
Get yo’ shit together, IDOT.

I got “caught” in a blizzard in Duluth last spring and was shocked at how clear the roads were for the five of us trying to drive.

Duluth is crazy on top of their snow control game. I was there in August and I asked my friend who lives there how they handle snow since it’s all hills, and he said it’s no problem as long as you have snow tires.

Yeah I had a crappy rental car and absolutely managed to get stuck in the parking lot at the property I was inspecting. But the interstate was great!

I love driving in snow normally. This was not one of those tomes. This was a slippery dangerous un-fun PITA.

I remember one time, I was 16, had my dad’s K5 with worn down mud tires. Doing what I thought was a reasonable speed for the conditions. It was a straight and flat county road in the middle of nowhere. Went to slow down, lightly touched the brakes, way way before my turn, just slid and slid without slowing down at all. Shot right past my friend’s driveway.
That kind of thing is terrifying. Especially when there are a bunch of other cars on the road

A story of two states indeed. Rain in Iowa City today and 3ish inches of slush/snow crap where I am in the northeast area at the same time. I only know about the rain due to friends coming home from there.
