Not that I was planning on buying an SX model (which removed the six speed as an option for the 2017), but what’s up with red line on the lower grille? Did they think “screw it, it works for the GTI, it can work for us”? Because I think it’s the only problem with an otherwise great looking car.

I think on the Blue it looks questionable. But on a black/white/gray/silver car it would look better.

Get a Rally Edition. :) Or get that in red and the red line won’t be noticeable.

I just wonder why the red marking? I mean, it’s not like SX means it’s the sport model. Hell, the SX version of the Forte sedan only gets a 164 horsepower motor with a six speed automatic versus the 5's 201 horsepower motor and seven speed DCT. And it’s never had this red line until 2017. So... why? Nevermind the fact that it’s in a kind of awkward looking spot.

I do agree, though. On a black or white car it’d look a lot better.

So a few months ago I was in the grocery store parking lot and I look across and see a set of headlights I had never seen before. It had led dots in a row on the bumper, an led line, and a regular projector? headlight in the middle. I knew immediately it was a Hyundai because I figured they wouldn’t know which design to steal so they just took all the designs.

So yes, I assume they did say if it works for the gti it can work for us.

That’s odd that the SX sedan doesn’t get the HO engine. On the last generation, SXs in any body were only 2.4s and the only way TOO get the 2.4.

Right? I think Kia has made a bit of a mistake there.

But those are cubic feet, some dimensions will only give you squares. Third dimension comes standard, that’s a volumeric value!

If there was a 3 door version, I’d buy it.

They did that silly line on their Picanto too, and that has less than 70 HP.

Actually this is the sport model - 1.6 turbo 4 making about 200hp. That’s Fiesta ST numbers. The interior is nice, and it definitely has sporting pretensions. Unfortunately I haven’t yet been able to get my hands on one to see just how sporty it is for myself. I suspect it’s no genuine FiST competitor, or else we’d have heard about it by now.

I meant more in the way thay SX isn’t like ST: not every SX model is the performance model, just the highest trim (it looks like).

The problem is its Focus sized. Imagine a Focus running around with the Fiesta engine. Not exactly barn-storming.

True. The one I sat in at NYIAS seemed to have all the sporting pretensions, even the flat bottom wheel. Well, except for the automatic that particular car had, but it’s available with a 6-speed manual.

Quite true. That’s why I’d like to get my hands on one to drive to see if the experience lives up to its ST-like numbers.

For 2017, it doesn’t appear to come with a manual, according to the Canadian website.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 6-speed manual is standard, 7-speed DCT optional here in the States. Maybe you should head south of the border to buy one. :)
