To make things simple, the SA22C will have to go. I won’t go into details, but let’s just say that a lot happened in the past 24 hours and that I have to put as much as possible on the side, not just for me, but for people close to me. I don’t divorce or get a kid lol, but it’s not going to be fun anyway...

That sucks. I love this car... It’s got everything: rare (12a turbo unicorn), from the most famous rotary tuner on this planet and it’s just freaking awesome to drive, albeit not that great to cruise around :)

It just makes me so sad to have to get rid of it... But it’s not cheap to run and it’s worth quite a bit here in Japan or in Australia so...

I’ll probably even start a regular job, which I haven’t had for nearly 3 years now. Wouhou!

I won’t stay without a car for long as I’ll certainly just buy a cheap Beat or Cappuccino, but still. Fuck.

And to add to the whole situation, I got a puncture on the way to Kobe yesterday, got stuck on the freeway for 2 hours and couldn’t even enjoy it on Mount Rokko as it was impossible to find 14' tires and I had to get whatever they had (econo tires that are borderline sketchy with it).

Also, don’t expect me to come by very often anymore for a little while. I’ll be rather busy very soon.

Nah, he has WAYYYY too many cars and it’s not his type of car. Not a car he’d want to hold onto... Also he litterally gave it to me for way less than it’s worth. I need to sell it for what it’s worth now. (I can sell it fairly easily for 11/12k USD here, but want to try to get a bit more out of it abroad, Australia mostly...)

Well, there is, but I won’t risk it. Let’s say it’s the kind of stuff I want to make sure is covered if it gets bad... I might even get rid of my Mini in France. I won’t give up on driving fun as it’s what keeps a smile on my face every single day though haha. I don’t know what I’ll buy yet... I might just go for a Cappuccino, a Honda Beat or just a Miata to replace it right away... Or maybe wait a bit more and get an S15 Spec R or an R33 GTR (which are, believe it or not, a lot cheaper to buy and own than my SA22C unicorn lol), but then again, I need a car on daily basis so... We’ll see!

hehe, yes, I do... quite well actually, for all ages and purposes, all that with auction access and prices haha :)

I think I’ll first go with a beaten Beat because they are never really beaten here anyway and keep on running forever, then once everything is a bit clearer for me, move to... We’ll see... It won’t be something people will guess though, I’m pretty sure about that. Hopefully within 6 months to a year, everything will be back to normal. If not, it will take quite a bit more time unfortunately :)

My only worry with a Beat would be that it’s a ragtop.....ragtops leak when worn :(

I would think a Cappucino would be a better option in that sense...removeable hardtop?

What about a newer Copen? Probably not as fun to drive, but also convertible hardtop options, and from my limited knowledge, as they are Toyota, I would think they would run forever as well?

I only buy cars if they are good investments. I don’t like losing money on cars... So it wouldn’t be something new-ish. Also the Copen is FF and I’m not really interested in that, unless we’re talking Peugeot 205 GTI or Honda Integra Type R.

Also, hardtops for the Beat are available for cheap, along with replacement ragtops so... And I ONLY care about how fun they are to drive. Convertible or not is not a buying point for me.

It needs a bit of bodywork (ie, floor needs patching, and paint is worn, and the cluster needs to be replaced, also I stole the sunvisors for my other one) but it does come with a set of side skirts, and the OEM Mugen seats. The milage I think is about 140k. Looking for about a grand and a bit. I’m up in Tohoku.

But if you have access to the dealer auctions, that’s probably the way to go.

Based on your description, one like yours would go for 7-man or so at auction on average. That and I’m 5 or 600km away from you haha
