And she did it all in heels (of a sort). In my writings on aviation history, I have come across many remarkable aviatrixes (though not yet Dutrieu) who are essentially lost to history. Not only were they remarkable pioneers, they were also remarkably courageous for fighting against societal norms of the day.

What the hell? Why is this woman not more famous? I think her Wikipedia entry would be shorter if it listed the things she didn’t do.
