I was thinking of deleting the resonator & muffler, but I decided not too. I don’t want be deaf by next winter. So I’m thinking of deleting the resonator, but put in a different muffler. The muffler I really want to put in is a Cherry Bomb glasspack. To me it looks like 2" pipe. They do make a 2" inlet/outlet 8" long glasspack. They also do a 2" inlet/outlet 18" long glasspack. They are pretty cheap too.

Please keep the resonator. Otherwise you’ll have a lot of bad noise.

Keep resonator, delete muffler. That’s how the Abarths sound so good, but they are also turbos.

Straight pipe. Thats what my powerstroke is. 4in pipe from the turbo to the side exit pipe

get a decent length muffler. youll be happier in the long run. i have a few trucks, and they all have 3 inch exhaust, with small short glasspacks. the one with the mild cam is mildly loud until you put your foot into it. my 305 project is getting “real” mufflers. its an attempt to be able to putter around semi-quietly for a change..........

You want GOOD noise. Im not exactly sure how a glass pack will sound on a 4-pot. They can be a bit raspy on a V6.

This would be so much better than hacked straight. Probably actually idle and sneak when needed, but satisfying on throttle. Just make sure to keep the original stuff, don’t just chuck it.

yeah, those are my super duper flowmaster 180(60+60+60) and 120 mufflers they have 3 inch inlets, and 2 2.25 outlets on each one. i had 5 60s, they were all given to me. only one had decent size tubing that i would of actually considered using. the rest were single 2.25 inlet/ outlet
AND with my *cough 305 *cough project going together i needed to get some mufflers. so, i did what any of the rest of us would have, i took some perfectly usable(if i compromise) mufflers, and franken-hacked them into something unique.
the trucks i drive are LOUD(big cams, lots of compression, and big pipes) but they make lots of power. i want to also be able to putter up and down the neighborhood semi-quietER. so me and a friend hacked up all the mufflers, and patched them back together into an acceptable pair of mufflers.
i still havent gotten to try them, but they are DEFINITELY going on, as soon as i can get the *cough 305*cough put into the truck. i need to hear the unique sound they will make.
the *cough 305*cough for reference. dont mind the cross threaded spark plugs, or the awkward balancer on it........ found some decent fender-exit headers while getting the project together........
