I don’t think you get what a 205 T16 is. There are only 200 of these (220 if you count the evolution 2s). These are group B homologation specials, holy Grails for a ton of collectors.

Haha, no. A pristine 205 GTi is $20k. That’s a production car, the sporty (and iconic) version of a car they built many millions of. This T16 is a group B homologation special, which shares nothing but lights with the production cars. I’m not at all surprised by that price.
