Behold this amazing action shot in which I managed to capture my sidemarker lighting up in response to my capacitive-enabled gloves.

That’s actually interesting to know. What gloves do you use? I’ve had two different pairs as gifts and they hardly work so I rock fingerless gloves.

Capacitive handles? That seems silly. I think mine are IR. Sticking your hand between handle and door opens them. It’s really annoying when I’m washing the car and the mitt or water set it off.

Both my 335xi and my wife’s Impreza are capacitive. You touch inside the handle to unlock and there’s little ridges on the top where it meets the door to lock.

They’re these Isotoners. I got them at Boston Store (which is a Midwest department store that’s definitely not in Boston) last year for maybe 20 bucks or so on sale. They’re actually pretty good with touch response.

I have a pair of fleece gloves that are also touch compatible but they basically have these little silver spots on the fingertips that are supposed to be the capacitive bits and they’re not as accurate as these ones.

Really the main reason I got these (fake) leather ones are the little sweater looking cuffs. I was sick of my wrists poking out from between my sleeve and glove while driving. The extended cuffs on these fully seal up with my shirt sleeve underneath my coat so no more wrist exposure.
