Well, I’ve done the math on the Euro Plates. Of course, at an inopportune time as exams are around the corner, but nonetheless I’ve got a pretty much final price for the Euro Plates. When you include the cost of plates, printing, shipping on both ends, and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! you’re looking at - all in - $45 dollars for the US, and $55 USD (approx. $63,218,970 CAD (no, jokes about the comical USD-CAD exchange rate will never get old)) for those in Canada. It seems to be on the high end our price consensus, but I’m trying to make a little money too. Just an FYI, this is not an official release. To be honest, I still need to see if the plates will be ready for printing right away. If anything changes, I will be sure to let y’all know.

If there wasn’t an asshole cop who goes through the parking lot at work ticketing every violation I would be all over one of these.

It’s just the one guy who patrols the parking lots where I work. He attempted to ticket me for my Hella 500s which are DOT approved and 100% legal down to how they are wired to only be on when the high beams are on. Being that the car spends 75% of the time in VT (I do not believe a VT officer is able to ticket me for not being in compliance of a MA law unless it is a safety issue which a front plate is not) it would be fine except for when I am at work.

That’s really stupid. He sounds like an ass. Sorry you’ve gotta deal with him.

I will have to see where I end up living after I graduate. If I end up living here in the Burlington area I may grab one. VT doesn’t require a front plate and this would be a cool solution over finding the plateless insert for the bumper (these inserts cover the euro mounts which are molded into the bumper)

Either way it gives me an excuse to look at importing an Euro car, hmmmm...

Yeahhh, so I live in Europe now and still want one. In fact, I will probably order one and have it shipped to my parents so I can have it in 3-5 years....

Haha yeah I don’t even want to think how much shipping to Europe would be.

I’ll buy one to match my actual plate, but just as decoration in for the house. I’m too much of a rebel to run a front plate, regardless of the type.

Shipping might be alright (not that big and heavy), but we get to pay taxes and import fees as well. Probably looking at $100 in total.

UPS says it’s $15.00 for shipping. Why would you guys have to pay taxes and import fees? It’s less than a pound. If you were taking it on a plane, you wouldn’t even have to declare it.

I’ve shipped plates to/from Germany before and it was pretty cheap, only a few bucks. I sent him a couple of my old car and bike plates from Maine, and he sent me one from Berlin - highly appropriate since I lived in Berlin, MA at the time.
But that was an even swap, not a sale. So, no taxes.

I will 100% buy one, but then I will need a Euro plate holder for the front of my Pontiac Monaro

Technically it is a Vauxhall Monaro VXRS....

More than reasonable actually, that would make the total €75/$80.
You’re right that you wouldn’t have to declare it if you brought it by plane (or received it as a gift, for that matter).
If it arrives by mail, and you’re ‘lucky’ to have your package examined, we pay ~4% import duties, 21% VAT and ~€10 declaration fees. Chances of examination are unknown, have been around 60% for me.

Unfortunately, no. Maybe after this summer. I still have to pay off the Lexus, so that’s my first priority. The whole thing pretty much boils down to a matter of priorities, both time and money wise. Hopefully I’ll finally do them at the latest before I go off to college in the fall of 2018 though. Check out the boxes I made in the meantime! https://packlane.com/share/pm8un9XOgWP7ga9Te

I totally understand that one. I was wondering cause I stumbled upon this site and thought it might have been you setting it up, but your designs are so much better.
Thank package is amazing, btw.
