Found out that my speedo reads about +3. What about everyone else?

Mine is +3 as well. Seems to be a pretty standard offset as my old Outback also read +3-4.

Mine is spot on, not bad for a 30 year old car.

Pickup: perfect
Wagon: not sure yet, but I suspect my speedo overestimates

‘14 Mustang is 2 MPH optimistic at 70 as well as 113... I figured it would have a percentage error, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. It does read 0 mph when stopped...

My (analog) speedo is about +2/3 mph over what the car’s data actually reports (digitally). Mini: go figure.
Pretty sure the GPS speed is dead accurate to the gauge so that would mean it’s off +2/3 mph.

The speedo in my truck is broken. When driving it home from my parents I used a speedo app on my phone. With a few exceptions I kept it around 65. My gf said she gave up trying to keep up because I was going too fast. I can’t trust my phone gps apparently.
My other cars? Dunno, never tried

old reliable, is a bit off. especially after the rear end gear change and all. the speedo gear gave it up, and i swapped the gear there too. its still way out, 1-25 is okay, but then things get wonky. 45 actual mph is at 65 on the gauge. 55 is 75ish, needle waving like its missed you and is saying hello. once you get to about 70, the speedo says 100 and starts moving to about the middle of the unmarked section of the gauge(not waving anymore)the tach at this point usually says around 3900 ish. when you have it wound out on long straights, the gauge makes it back to about the zero on the mph. and by then the tach is coming up on the 5000 end of gauge(thats around 100 mph). after that its anybodys guess how fast youre going.........

My digital and analog readouts match above 4 mph. The analog wont go below 4 mph for some reason.

At highway speeds mine reads 4-5 over the actual speed. Around town it gets better.

I feel like that’s normal? Like cars often just give up accurately displaying speed when below 5 or even sometimes 10 mph. The entire gauge’ll be in 5 mph increments but then for some reason just go down from 10 mph to 0 mph.
It’s all a crapshoot under there (unless you have a digital gauge/readout). 1 mph or 9 mph - all the same lol.

RPM and what gear you are in is probably the best way to do it
