Are you sure about that? Tuned ecoboost beats gt and then precedes to spew oil everywhere, but it still beat a gt.

oh, and that’s the worst part about the EcoBoost. when he was in the burnout box it sounded like a goddamned chainsaw.

I am not surprised.

One of my buddies had a SVO Mustang with a tuned computer, and I remember him beating a brand new GT and 40th Anniversary V8 Mustangs back in 04. I was told not to tell his mom he was drag racing. Absolutely brilliant guy from Lynchburg, Tn, and knew how to apply engineering better than anyone. He had an International truck that he pulled out oak stumps with. I should give him a call.

I am 90% sure that is a GT350 and not a GT. This isn’t really a fair comparison though. You can tune anything to be fast.

Yes, because poorly tuning any other engine wouldn’t have the same outcome.

The Ecoboost is vastly superior than the V6 stock for stock. When it comes to the aftermarket, it’s a landslide for the Ecoboost already.

It’s never a fair comparison between mustangs though, of course the stock GT or GT350 is faster than the stock Ecoboost in a straight line

So then the point becomes that the Ecoboost is unreliable, compared to ye ole conventional V8. Probably a fair point.

I don’t think it was vastly superior stock for stock. The 2015 V6 has ten less horsepower and weighs 40 lbs less than the Ecoboost. I am sure the Ecoboost is more tunable, but stock to stock the difference is negligible, so why sell the Ecoboost?

The ecoboost has 10 extra horsepower and no weight savings compared to the V6. To me that is negligible, and it makes little sense to have both...which is why they are killing the V6.

very impressive. but if an ecoboost needs a tune to match the v8, and doesnt get much better real word milage... V8 for me, thanks.
