My belief is that hearing from varying perspectives, especially if they differ from your own, is of enormous value. If it’s uncomfortable, that’s probably a good thing. BUT, I haven’t found that any of the (former) Gawker Media sites are good for well-sourced news. Thus, I go elsewhere for “real” news and sometime find myself frustrated by the extreme bias and lack of evidence provided on many Jez/HamNo/other posts. Unfortunately, it’s tough to ignore them when they get shared to Jalopnik, or even Oppo.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Did you guys know you can filter out posts by various authors using the “Kinja Blocker” web extension for Chrome? Way cool. Not as cool as those 991.2s, though.

if they have a “bossy headline” filter that’d take care of 90% of the problem in one fell swoop.
