I was replacing a light bulb in the instrument cluster today and when I put the plastic piece over it a scratched the piece behind the steering wheel. Does anyone know how to fix interior scratches like these? I have a headlight restoration kit I haven’t used I’m thinking about trying on it. I could always get a new piece, but I’d prefer to fix what’s already there.
Also I’m ready to honorably accept my punishment from Supreme Chancellor and Glorious Leader SaveTheIntegras.

Try using a little heat. Small butane torches work well. Enough heat slightly melt scratches.
GO SLOW and start with a fair bitof distance. It won’t be perfect but should turn the light/ white scratch back into the correct grey.

I don’t have a butane torch, but could a BBQ lighter work if held closer?

Yup. It’s just not as easy to “direct” the heat.
Just a heads up. This won’t be a perfect fix.

Heat gun if you have one, may help by taking the white off of them but they appear too deep to melt back to normal. The heated areas will also appear shiny so you may want to heat the entire surface for “blending” so to speak. Headlight repair stuff won’t work.
I do this stuff for a living. My guess is it’d be cheaper to get a replacement than pay someone to fix it. You may even be able to replace it for less than the materials you’d need to repair it...which is possible if you are handy.
