We stayed home all day.

I bought a dog toy on Amazon, does that count?
Other wise I just did some chainsaw-centric landscaping.

I went to Target after I got off work to buy an XBox One, which I entirely expected to be totally gone but they had like four of them left. The store wasn’t as chaotic as I was expecting either.

Who in the hell thought it was a good idea to put black Friday stuff in the grocery section?????

Just to the local Pull-A-Part junkyard for some Ranger parts and then a quick stop to Lowe’s for insulation sponge on the Miata’s headlights.

There seems to be growing backlash over the insanity of BF. Which is fine with me.

You’re supposed to do that on Monday.

Was working yesterday.
Not sure if I’m angered by mankind or the vertical video seeing that.
PS: why am I unapproved again in Oppo? Not grayed but have to click show unapproved.

Went to Halfords (equivalent to Auto zone maybe) to look at a Bicycle, determined that it wasn’t what I wanted and bought some screenwash instead.
Black Friday is apparently a thing in the UK too now.

I worked. Really thought about getting up early to go to record store day Black Friday and grab iron maidens brave new world. Love that one and it’s the first time it’s issued on vinyl in the US

The stores usually restock throughout the day so there really is no rush for black Friday.

Well we just got a German Shepherd puppy, and he has already destroyed everything else, so we needed a chew-proof toy ASAP.

I went on Wednesday to grab some snow boots and a gift for my sister. Still saved 40% on the boots, because in Canada, we basically go “to hell with it, get a deal on stuff all month”.

As crazy as it sounds, I couldn’t find a single “doorbuster” I needed that badly this year. So, I just passed entirely.

I think many people just go and buy whatever they can grab. My shopping is always targeted: I make a list, shop the list, and get the hell out. And that’s an a non-Black Friday day.

Just like every year, we had a pool going at work on how many people were gonna get stomped to death. I lost.

No. IMO the only thing more profane than “Black Friday” itself is this push to get people to go shopping Thursday night. Especially when it’s stupid. Art Van had the spotlights going on Thanksgiving night, and the parking lot was thankfully near empty.

I went on Wednesday, since Best Buy had already started their sales then. Picked up a 48" TV for the living room so I can put the big one in the basement now. Sorta mad I didn’t know the Roombas were on sale or I would have grabbed one, but the crazy deal one is now sold out.
Went across the street to the furniture store just to see what they had, ended up getting a bed frame for my guest room at like 50% off so that was nice. Wasn’t planning on getting it, but couldn’t pass it up for that cheap.
Had to go to Menards yesterday for some supplies for the house renovation, and it was a zoo. They had all sorts of weird not-Menards stuff like clothes and electronics all over the place. Sorta annoying.

Went and bought a Xbox One S (on behalf of “Santa”) for my brother for Christmas so that he could game with his friends.
Other than Walmart being a bit packed, had no problems, there were plenty of consoles to go around, the line took 10 minutes, and no one stabbed each other. I also picked up Battlefield 1 for my self (30$!) while I was there.

I spent the entire day trying to extract two bolts.
I would have rather stood in line for a TV.

Went to Walmart on Thursday night around night since it was open and the sales had already begun. Expected a blood bath, so I had a few shots before hand. Wasn’t driving anyway. My key to Thanksgiving weekend is to always remain drunk.
It was honestly the most civil I’ve ever seen a Walmart.

What was a nightmare was Thanksgiving day around 5pm, we ran out of milk. So I had to run to Walmart. Trying to get through that store, full of crazy shoppers (the deals started at 6pm) was terrifying
I JUST WANTED MILK. IM NOT CUTTING. PLEASE LET ME GET IN AND OUT!

I went to the grocery store yesterday and it was dead. I would have gone to a convenience store and gladly paid $6 for a gallon of milk on Thanksgiving Day.

Went to Sears to pick up some tools, it wasn’t super busy. Then went over to Costco for some stuff, pretty much a normal shopping experience there. Got some decent deals and was back home within two hours, was far easier than I expected.

I hit up the insurance office for storage insurance on the ‘vette, $39 for the winter isn’t bad, but they had no record that it’d ever been registered in the province and the short VIN confused the poor lady... that took almost an hour to resolve. Also bought my roommate a set of new earbuds on amazon.ca last night...

I bought Sennheiser HD 598 Cs headphones (over ear) that were like $200 off for about $120. Made another Prime trial too so I got free next day delivery too lol. Going to watch The Grand Tour too before my trial runs out.

I need winter boots, too. Did you get a particular brand? I was looking at Sorel and Columbia since they both have deals going on.
I’m in Ottawa so I need to be prepared for when we inevitably get fucked by old man winter.

Hah, I just left Ottawa. Had a pair of Columbias for... three years, I think? Great boots, kept me warm, good and waterproof. They were on sale at the Bay, normally $170, got them for about $130 after tax.

That’s a big negatory. We drove past a big mall on the way to my sister’s house, and it was jam packed. I’d rather slam my head in a sliding glass door.

We once saw a guy with a whole cart full of groceries from the little section they have there. It’s like he didn’t realize there’s a real grocery store in town that’s way cheaper.

Now that is bizarre. I can understand picking something up if you’re there anyways. I’ve done that a few times, but that is the least convenient way to just buy groceries ... in the world.

Interesting. I just noticed spotlights in the sky south of my house. There is an Art Van furniture in that general direction.

Bought three videogames on Black Friday special... but of the download variety, so didn’t have to leave the house. It was my birthday. Other than that, went in with several family members to get a new gun safe at Tractor Supply on special, which I’m sure you can imagine was
not
particularly hellish other than the logistics of moving a 500lb+ giant steel lump.
