Sigh. Read the small print before signing people, insurance companies will do what ever they can to avoid paying including claiming stickers increase the risk.

In the insurance companies’ defense the people that have stickers all over their cars tend to drive like dumbasses.

do people in the uk have as rampant of a problem with those “stick figure family” stickers? how about the abbreviated name tourist stickers? that will be a lot of invalidated insurance.

This is probably due to the dumbasses who put gigantic “Ain’t care” or “Hoonigan” stickers right on their windshields. Insurance companies (rightly) see that as an increased risk. Now if you have a bumper sticker...idk insurance companies, can’t back you up there.

Ah Britainistan, the island of freedom and justice. There’s probably a CCTV in front of every house watching for it, too.

For those that do live in the UK, I would double check if this is actually a “law” since a lot of these things can be up to the company to decide. If this is actually a “law” for all UK insurers, that is a fucked up decision.
No one should be charged extra on insurance for having an “OPPO” sticker.

As a UK resident, I call bullshit.
Next thing they’ll say is that an air freshener is a modification.

It appears to me that the UK is the world record holder of creating totally perverted laws. For years already.

Why do they see them as an increased risk? It’s not random guessing and discrimination. Insurance companies do this stuff based on statistics. They
just
want to make money - you make that by following stats, not hating on people with stickers.

I never said they were hating (maybe I’m hating though).

Nah it’s not really hating. I just mean that it’s likely more statistics-based than anything else.
