So I cleaned out my blower motor yesterday because it was making a clicking sound when running. Nothing but leaves, however I’m sure some of y’all have found some crazy stuff habituating in your cars vent system. What’s the worst of it?

Fired up the blower motor on a barn find only to find out it was a dead mouse Gravitron.

Did the same thing in a parts XJ I picked up last summer. No dead mice but got a blast of turds and nest out the defrost vents. The windows were cracked when I picked it up, which I thought was weird and in hindsight was a bad sign. If I was pulling stuff from inside it I had to leave the doors open for a couple hours before I could even sit inside, the mouse piss smell was that bad. On the plus side, I’m pretty sure I’m immune to hantavirus now...

Mold, due to me leaving the top open on my car during a huge downpour.

Ill have to ask my dad what they have found. At least a few dead mice in daily drivers...

I set a fire extinguisher off into the air intake of the hvac once to put out a pine needle fire. Never do that, just let the car burn to the ground instead. Better off to have it totalled than try to clean that shit out.

In college my roommate started a grease fire on our electric range (kind with the exposed coils). Got the pan lid on the pan but the oil had splashed so I used the extinguisher. That stuff on those coils killed my throat/lungs. I was hacking so bad I nearly threw up several times. Then we had to clean up.

I’ve been pretty fortunate. The nastiest stuff I ever found in my vents was dried/sticky coffee spillage in my truck. Thanks, previous owner.
Kind of a funny place for GM to put the cupholder, but I was able to clean it up pretty good by popping the directional vent thingy out and soaking it in warm water before wiping down.
