Ended up destroying five of them to get this far. Two were of the screw-inside-a-pin type and three were these flat tabs that held the bumper to the grill. I’ll have to contact PartsGroup in FL or see if Panic Motorsports is open tomorrow for quick replacements that won’t gouge my wallet out (also fuck you, local Mazda stealerships). Jake, if you’re reading this, then I highly DO NOT recommend trying this. It’s an absolute pain in the ass.

Whatever, today’s half of the battle was the hardest part. Tomorrow and Saturday is all about installing these beauties.

Hello, Mazdaspeeds~!

Projectors? For what, if I may ask?

Also, I’m chuckling at the lead image.

They’re replacement headlights for my ‘02 Miata. I’m tired of the feminine-looking bright chrome finish and I think the black chrome look will suit it better like so.

I figured to add text to that image since I can’t be the only one who gets pissed off when the screw portion gets stripped off or when it violently shatters.

I just bought a set of Mazdaspeed headlights to install on my ‘01. Earlier this year I also replaced my front bumper with Mazdaspeed one that I repainted to match (crappy respray). Those clips were certainly a pain in the ass. I ended up using random screws and bolts where possible because forget those God forsaken clips! I’m more excited for my exhaust install though since I just bought a full header-midpipe-muffler set.

Reusing them is hopeless and the ones I bought were the wrong size. Did you find out which ones are the right size?

Yeah... just getting the fender liner out enough to replace my fog light was ridiculous.

Some are reusable and I’m going to reuse as many as possible but I tried checking the local Advance Auto Parts for potential replacements but all they have are Chrysler/GM stuff...all the Ford(/Mazda?) ones are apparently sold out.

I can’t guarantee that they fit, but I’m positive that I’ve seen the push clips in Home Depot, and I think maybe the flat clips as well. There’s a section of drawers in the bolts and fastener aisle with automotive fasteners.

They’re always sold out of the exact obscure item one needs. Never any of the other fasteners.

This is everyday as a body tech. Spent way too much time trying to save these exact clips on a ‘06 Mazda 3 today.

Holy shit. 1-Click ordered. I hope you put an affiliate link on that kind of deep amazon knowledge. I just paid $30 for 10 of those little bastards today.

I am but a mere mortal. I bought those clips and they’re great, no more anxiety about losing or breaking clips.

Hopefully I can quickly source three of the fasteners that go into these holes.

LOL, so true.

Mrs McMike’s car had an aftermarket horn I installed under the bumper cover. I was careful to not disturb the factory harness so I could remove it when we sold the car.

Time comes to sell the car, and I go to remove remove the horn to save for later.

The new owner got the horn because I started breaking off these clips to get the bumper cover back off.

I suppose I could have ordered a complete set of fasteners in order to get the horn, but nope.
