I’m doing my traditional turkey. It’s salted and carefully buttered UNDER the skin with homemade garlic and herb butter.
Last night I made homemade cranberry sauce, raspberry vinaigrette, and ginger pumpkin spice cookies.
I’ll also be doing garlic and rosemary mashed potatoes, olive oil and herb roasted vegetables (carrots, turnip, and asparagus), raspberry and mint salad with feta, and a cranberry and walnut quinoa.
Depending on how full we are, I may do some walnut and brown sugar mini cinnamon rolls after dinner.
My roommates keep asking if they can help and I keep telling them to go away. Haha.

It’s not Thanksgiving in the U.K. So I’m having baked Marabel potatoes, steak and Guinness pasties and baked beans washed down with Old Speckled Hen and Guinness Original XX black and tans.

Did a dry rub on the turkey last night and cooked it all night (12 hours at 200) so it pretty much fell apart so carving was minimal. Sweet Potato casserole, salad, and cranberry sauce rounded out the sides.

Turkey, brisket, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, soda, pigs in a blanket, some sort of weird but delicious homemade appetizer, wine, puppy chow, oatmeal raisin cookies, chips and salsa, tuna salad on toast, carrot cake, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, green beans, sweet potato pie, asparagus, and I’m sure I’m missing a few things.

Just got done eating. Went with the family to a resort giant buffet thanksgiving lunch thingy. I ate mostly seafood, prime rib, and more seafood.

You don’t lid on when frying? I’m doing mine right now, I find the lid keeps splatter down, so less fire chance

You are not supposed to fry with the lid on unless it is ventilated. Water can condense on the lid and fall back into the oil which screws with the oil (oil with water in it doesn’t work great for frying) and can result in less crispy food.

Hmm... interesting. Typically u get a ton of steam shooting out under the lid, but it’s not vented. I’ll have to check institutions. What you’re saying mages sense, I was always aware of the splatter hazard though. My lid even has a hole to get the thermometer through.
