This body style has aged so well. The chrome accents work so well with the black paint, it reminds me of a 60's Lincoln Continental.
So much space for hookers.
Dat 3 box design.
Booty.

Not a bad idea at all. We’ve had 2 X350s and a S-Type R with that supercharged engine, all dead reliable.

I might have a hefty repair bill on my Juke soon, if so I put on straight pipes like a reasonable human being.

0/10 brilliant idea.
I would swap out the chrome side vents, however.

Gorgeous cars, and they move like crazy. I was able to ride in a maybe-3-year-old example when my buddy (a Jag dealership mechanic at the time) was working on it. Ghostly quiet, smooth, and wildly powerful 6. I was smitten.
I don’t know if I’d own one now...but they really are beautiful.

As far as I know the only real trouble these cars have is the air suspension (no where near Merc SLS levels though). Granted being what it is, regular maintenance stuff is going to be more expensive (I’m pretty sure the XJR has brembo brakes so...). I secretly want to upgrade my X-Type to one of these and so have done a bit of poking around on the forums.
So beautiful, le sigh.

With companies like Arnott Industries around, suspension repairs like strut replacements are practically just another piece of routine maintenance.
Their remanufactured ABC struts are $650 a piece and have a lifetime warranty. Their lifetime warranty Jag air struts are $550.

Buy it, I need more data points showing that modern Jags are reliable, so that I can buy one too!

It depends upon your expectations. If you plan for it having issues with things ike the air suspension, that is you expect that it will be a reasonaly intensive upkeep experience and that things will break from time to time, then it is a fantastic idea. If you can pay to play, it is a great fun. If you expect to to make payments on it, drive it and do little more than change the oil every once in awhile, then it may not be as good of an idea.
I enjoyed/enjoy my E39 and Corvette at 20k/year daily drivers, but I also never expected them to be cheap to keep running. I expect them to cost atleast a couple of grand a year in parts and repairs on top of and beyond routine maintenance, and neither dissapointed.
