How many miles on the clutch? I’ve only ever had 1 clutch change out of 3 manual cars, two were above 200k mi before I got rid of them. One is still going on the original clutch last I heard. Only did the clutch on the focus cause the slave went out so why not do it all at once.
But I’ve seen a lot of cars on craigslist recently where the seller says the clutch has been done but the car is at like 100k. Which makes me wonder how bad they are at driving stick.

I’ve always heard clutches go out around 70k.
That being said, I drove my Protege to 90k with no new clutch, gave it to my sister, and a couple of years later she replaced the clutch. When I drove it, I was amazed at how much better the new clutch felt. I had needed to replace mine all along and I just hadn’t known.

Maybe I just got super lucky? I beat the shit out of the clutch in the Ford ranger I had when I was 16. Would rev it up to 3k and just drop it. Never slipped, could be the engine didn’t have enough power though lol. I had to draft behind people to get it above 70 on the highway. That thing wouldn’t die though.

281,255 miles on the car, so about that. IIRC the PO had not changed it.
