A 2008 Saturn Astra XR 3dr. It drove good, had a 5spd. I found it a bit small inside.
A 1999 Pontiac Firebird WS6 coupe. It had good power, made a beautiful noise, was very NP ($12k CAD), and low KM’s (85k). I found it ugly and did not buy it. BIG REGRET. I did not know at the time the significance of the WS6 pkg, I thought it was a shitty factory body kit.
2009 Dodge Caliber. Do I need to say any more?

1993 Saturn SC 5spd. Snapped the timing belt on the test drive.

2005 Subaru WRX wagon when I chose a 350Z. Eventually bought a 2012 Subaru WRX and I did like it more than the 350Z. The wagon body would have made more sense for me at the time as well.
I Dodged the Caliber SRT-4 bullet at the time but it was in the running at some point. They were cheap and were practically being given away new.

An Oldsmobile Aurora (2nd gen) with the V6. Nice car, fast enough, but a touch out of my budget and I was just really undecided about what I wanted at that time.
A 2005 Land Rover LR3 with V8. Very very clean, very NP, but zero service history and it was the wrong colour inside and out. I almost regret not buying it.

2009 Mazda 3 hatch, in red. Was ready to buy it until the owner mentioned it was in an accident (would have been on the carfax anyways). It was not priced like an accident car. Walked away immediately.
Bought my 2011 rental special instead.

1993 Mazda RX7 Touring in 2000. Silver body with black leather, 70,000 miles. Ran and limped, it was hit in the left front suspension and hinge post. Needed a fender, door, uniside sectioning, a wheel, and complete left front suspension. Put a deposit on it, and ended up transferring it to a 95 Eclipse GST. Easier fix, less miles, better profit margin at resale, and still a hoot to drive for a 20 year old.
I still wish I’d bought the FD3.

Multiple 90s BMWs of varying degrees of broken. I still ended up with an extremely broken M3 over a rather nice E39 5-series because I couldn’t get over the grey leather that was beat and having the smallest motor on offer and ugly wheels.
An extremely clean, fully loaded with everything except leather Blazer LT 4x4. I put off going to look at it too long and it sold out from under me insanely quick. Plus it was pewter over tan which was kinda meh to me.

A pair of Volvo 480 turbos. Both too far gone to save.
Lancia Fulvia, was a part finished resoration with a solid shell. Decided it was too much work. Just a few years ago but it went for next to nothing compared to what they are selling for now.
Saab 99 for the rally project. Bid on a couple then decided to go with the Suzuki as it’s a car we knew.
Svart Smart, traded in his Smart

Back in May, after an eye-watering repair bill on my Smart, I almost traded it for a 1990 Toyota Camry V6. (In July, with some help from relatives, I traded the Smart for a Honda Fit.)

1983 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham - grey w/red button tufted interior. A 3 hour round trip to check it out, drove real nice and ran fine, but the paint was much weaker than the photos showed and the plastic bumper fillers were extremely brittle (one had crumbled in between me talking to the owner and going out to see the car). He didn’t budge on price, so I walked away.
1985 Cadillac Seville - light blue w/ blue velour interior. Actually a pretty nice car, I came really close to pulling the trigger on it, but got second thoughts/cold feet over the HT4100, plus FWD.

1970 Boss 302 with 32k on it for $10,000 in 1989.
In 1997, I looked at a 308GTS, forget the year of the car, white with a red interior. I didn’t like the color combo, so I let it go. They wanted $17,500 for it.
A few years back, a mid 80s Grand Wagoneer. It had less than 100k on it and was damn near mint. The guy wanted $900 for it, and I foolishly went armed with only a checkbook. He wouldn’t take a check, even for a deposit while I ran to the bank. I returned 15 minutes later with cash, and it was sold.
Finally, a 2001 M Coupe. I had told my buddy if it was under $28k at the dealer, I’d buy it. Salesman came out and said they were asking $27,500. I couldn’t fit comfortably in the car, so I passed. If it were now, I’d make myself fit somehow.

Those first 3 you mentioned you must regret, they are selling for good money now.

Yep, I do. I ended up spending as much money on winter tires on my RX8 as I would’ve for that Wagoneer. That Ferrari was probably my only realistic chance at owning a Ferrari, too. Sigh.

1977 Lincoln Continental in 2012. It was going to be my only car. But I decided against it because I’m an idiot.

I’ve since put 90,000 miles on the Crossfire and haven’t had to replace the engine.

A $900 Panhard Dyna. It was solid, but 1,000 miles away from me. I shouldn’t have passed it up, dammit. Love those cars.
