If you folks can unglue your eyes from Jezza, Capt Slow and the Hamster for long enough, i present this beauty of a gun.
The result of an AR making sweet sweet love to a P90. And oh boy do I want it. The drum mag just makes everything work

maybe it’s just battlefield 1 hype and Nostalgia from my Army Cadet days (and gun laws in the UK,semi auto and auto is a no) but I’d rather have an SMLE mk III.

An elegant weapon, though not necessarily a more civilised time.

TFB is a great site, and yes, I want one.

a fine weapon, in fact the first firearm I ever fired was a No.8 variant which is a .22 version used for training purposes. It was’t until a couple of years later I got behind a .303 version when I joined the cadet shooting team (I wasn’t particularly good, mind you).
I’m not sure we have become that much more civilised since the SMLE’s inception.

It looks like one could easily mistake one end for the other.

Well, I was riffing on Obi Wan Kenobi’s line from Ep. IV:
“Your father’s lightsaber. This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster. An elegant weapon... for a more civilized age.”

I should have noticed!
still, the SMLE is used by some police forces to the present day.

If it ain’t broke. I don’t know all that much about guns, but I bet that SMLE will still work in 100 years.

No 5.7 mm conversion? Oh well, stuff is still pretty expensive anyway.
I’d take a Surefire 60 round casket over a drum any day. And the foregrip reminds me more of a Magpul PDR-C than a P90. In fact I see more Magpul influence than I do that of FN.

I think the thumb hole stock makes it less functonal. The front grip helps a bit with handling. That drum while cool probably increases your chance for a failure to feed. EOTECH sights are always awesome.

I have a drum and a few 40 rounders for my bullet hose small caliber scary black rifle, but I have to admit that I think it handles way better with 30 round mags. The drum adds a bunch of weight when loaded, and the 40s are just stupid long. I feel like they’re always in the way when shooting from a bench or prone. Then again, I am a cranky old man who’s resistant to anything new or different.
I’ll allow it, because it’s tacti-cool (,yo).

I’ll give you points on the drum mag, but for me that’s what completes the package looks wise. It just doesn’t look right with a 30 rounder. As for the thumbhole stock, I feel it’s a personal preference. On hunting rifles I like them well enough, but without handling this one personally, I’m still inclined to like them. Aesthetically, it works for me. YMMV

So old timer, how do you feel about these mags?
The 100 round one probably weighs as much as the rifle fully loaded XD

Assuming you can find .303, it’s not terribly common.

Apparently Hera Arms posted pictures of their concept/one-off stocks/foregrips and the internet sploded. They are on track to produce them for sale next month, and they’ve said they should cost less than $200. The stock even has a California-legal option.

I’ve never used a double stack AM mag, but I’ll try anything twice!
