I have a 92 Spec Miata and would love to be able to register it to drive on the street, but I only have a bill of sale.
When I bought the car I didn’t get the title, because racecar, and the guy I bought it from didn’t have it either. (it’s a few owner back).
I ran the VIN and it is not stolen. Any suggestions on where to start?+

I know in many states you don’t own a car without your name on the title.
I’d check with your DMV and see what they can do. Maybe file as an abandoned car. Or try to dig back to the last titled owner.

It’s Florida, of course you can register it:)
Everything is explained here. It applies for cars with only a bill of sale.

Try registering it in a state that doesn’t need a title such as Vermont.

Thank you for the suggestions, but I’ve already tried that avenue.
Unfortunately, they weren’t very helpful.
