I unfortunately decided it was time to sell my long time friend: my Focus SVT. Anyhow *wiping away my tears* how can I get your opinion without looking like I’m trying to sell it on opposite? I could have been like “hey I found this svt on Craigslist what do you think?” But that’s lame, since I actually do have someone who is actually somewhat interested who asked “do you have a bottom dollar?” I guess maybe I don’t know what the bottom dollar is?

um... post your ad and ask for advice. I know ‘the rules’ have things referring to this, but I dont think anyone is going to give you shit, especially with how much you post.

We need a website that does appraisals, like, you post a fake classified and other users tell you how much they’d pay for it.

The app BRZO is pretty handy for that sort of thing:

Why are you always the first person to respond to any of my posts or comments? Is work really that boring?

I keep a pretty good eye on the SVTF market and I’ve seen most of them trade from $3-6k depending on mileage and condition (read: not modded to shit) with the majority of that in the $3500-5000 range. It’s kind of hard to gauge though, KBB and other resale sites have terribly inaccurate values (no one’s going to sell their low-mileage SVT for $2300) so it’s really up to you and the dude trying to buy it as to what a fair value for the car is. If it’s a good car that’s been well-taken care of and doesn’t have some kind of crazy high mileage a solid bottom-dollar might be about $3500, but that’s just my opinion, could always start higher.

Welcome to selling a car on craigslist.
Anyone who wants to hammer out a price with you by text/email before looking at your car is not a serious buyer. Don’t get drawn into it. It’s a waste of time.
If someone asks you what your lowest price is, tell them you want to get as close to your asking price as possible, but if they have a number in mind, you’re willing to consider reasonable offers.
If they’re in your ballpark, say that number might work, but that you want them to look at the car and make sure it meets what they’re looking for before you agree on a final price. Arrange to meet them at a police station to show them the car.
Only nail down a number after they look at the car.
